Join Rev. Kim Crutcher (she/her) in learning about the benefits of and how to make tinctures. Tinctures are herbal preparations made with alcohol or vinegar or glycerine. Just as we preserve other plants (vegetables, fruits) so that we can enjoy them outside of their growing season, tinctures are one way of capturing the properties of plants so that they can be used later. Using a liquid that extracts different plant constituents than water alone, tinctures offer a variety of benefits outside of what a tea or infusion can offer. Come and learn this affordable and very accessible technique.
Participants will be emailed a list of supplies to purchase in advance of the workshops. While the cost of supplies is not included in the ticket price, materials are affordable and include many common household items.
Since this is a virtual event, registrants will also be emailed a link to join the class on the day of the event.
Attendees of our Herb Garden Walk workshop are eligible for a discounted ticket to this workshop. Please email info@urbangrowerscollective.org to receive a discount code to use when signing up for the Herb Garden Walk. Each code can only be used once.
Urban Growers Collective understands that not everyone can afford to attend these workshops. For information about scholarships, please email info@urbangrowerscollective.org.
